Additional Information | The Kettering Medical Center was founded in 1964, although work on their first hospital took place in 1961. The organization was named for its founder, Eugene Kettering. Eugene was inspired to open up a hospital after witnessing the 1950's polio epidemic. The medical center kept growing, with the campus even opening a college for health sciences, Kettering College. Eventually, the Kettering Medical Center rebranded to become the Kettering Health Network, which lists nine hospitals across Ohio around the Dayton and Cincinnati area. |
