The Go-Go’s were an all girls band from California. They signed with IRS Records in 1981 and released their first album “Beauty and the Beat”. It was the number one album on the Billboard 200 chart for six weeks. From March of 1981 to August of 1982, the band toured with the band, The Police. The “Beauty and the Beast” album was named 414 in Rolling Stone magazine’s 2003 list of top 500 greatest albums of all time.
