The 1964 film A Hard Days’ Night starring the Beatles was a comedy focusing on four musicians held captive by their increasing popularity. Work began on the film shortly after the Beatles’ musical debut on The Ed Sullivan Show as an attempt to carry their success from the United Kingdom to the United States.
