Additional Information | The U.S. Forest Service sought the significance of owls for their campaign where the slogan, “Give a hoot! Don’t pollute” was promoted by their mascot; Woodsy Owl during the 70s & 80s. Woodsy Owl teaches younger generations to be involved in appreciating nature through an awareness of protecting our environment from polluting. Today, the campaign for conservation practices still uses Woodsy Owl as the National Symbol for pollution awareness equipped with his new slogan, “Lend a hand – care for the land!” |
