Between 1993 and 2000 McDonald's restaurants offered Teenie Beanies, miniature versions of the popular Beanie Babies toys. In the seven years the promotion ran, seventy different Teenie Beanies were sold. In 2009, there was an attempt to revitalize the campaign and Teenie Beanies 2.0, including thirty various options, were featured in July and August. Unlike the original toys, these came with special web codes so consumers could play with virtual representations of the Beanies online.
