Additional Information | Established by members Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, Peter Criss, and Gene Simmons in 1973, KISS was a hard rock band from New York City, New York who were most notably known for their unique performance appearance which consisted of elaborate face paint and gothic clothing. Their music began to gain popularity in the '70s when they released their sophomore album "Alive!" which was the group's first live album in 1975. This release became a stepping stone to more success when it reached Gold. After steady group success during the '70s, KISS decided to temporarily disband to pursue solo careers. Although each member achieved individual success, it was short-lived when they reunited in 1979 after a 2 year hiatus and produced their seventh album, "Dynasty." |
