Additional Information | The 1983 Sugar Bowl was held January 1st, 1983 at the Louisiana Superdome and was between the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Georgia Bulldogs to decide the National Champion. Winning 27-23, Penn State maintained their lead throughout. The win secured Penn State as the number one college football team in the country. Central Counties Bank was a banking institution found in State College, Pennsylvania, home of Pen State. In 1983 it was purchased by Mellon National Corporation, a money market management firm based out of Pittsburgh. |
