Additional Information | Midway Airlines Corporation was founded in 1976 as an all-jet fleet in Chicago, Illinois. After the mass movement of flights to O'Hare Airport in Chicago, the discount Midway Airlines was meant to serve as a lower-price alternative to draw fliers back to Midway Airport, spurring the ad "Kiss O'Hare Goodbye". Midway Airlines ceased operations in 1991 with a record 44 aircraft and 0 fatal crashes before dividing assets, sending workers to Southwest and planes to Jet Express. |
