Additional Information | Like many state music education associations, the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) sponsors several state-wide music opportunities to develop future musicians and leaders from its most accomplished high school students. Participation in Connecticut's all-state orchestra, choir, band or jazz ensemble requires a successful audition where students are given the opportunity to receive a professional evaluation of their performance. Those accepted into the yearly program come together for a series of group rehearsals where students prepare for a performance under the direction of guest conductors. The cumulative work of each music group is then shared with the public at All-State and Regional Festivals. |
