Additional Information | Joel Barry Pollak, a self-proclaimed “Tea Party Republican,” ran for U.S. Congress against Democrat Jan Schakowsky in Illinois’s 9th congressional district. Schakowsky had been in office since 1999. In the 2010 primaries, neither Pollak nor Schakowsky were opposed by others of their parties, though two Green Party nominees ran. Pollak lost the election, garnering only 31% of votes to Schakowsky’s 66%. |
