| Additional Information | Porno for Pyros is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles formed in 1992 by former Jane’s Addiction members Perry Farrell (vocals) and Stephen Perkins (drums) after Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and bassist Eric Avery left the band in 1991 in order to better maintain their sobriety. Farrell claims that he named the band Porno for Pyros after seeing an ad for fireworks in a pornographic magazine. Porno for Pyros’ eponymous debut album was released on April 27, 1993. The band released only two albums before breaking up in 1998. |
