Additional Information | Saviour's Day is a holiday celebrated by the Nation of Islam, an African American political and religious movement, honoring the birth of their founder, Wallace Fard Muhammad. In 1984, over 12,000 people convened in Chicago, Illinois to celebrate; the event is also remembered for Minister Farrakhan's publicly supporting Reverend Jesse Jackson's decision to run for president, despite controversy among members of the Jewish community. |
