Grin Pins were a series of buttons sold by American Girl from 1994 to the early 2000s. The buttons were available in packs or as free items that came with purchases of children's clothes from the American Girl Gear clothing line. A special banner for collectors to display their Grin Pins was also sold. There were a wide variety of Grin Pin styles that related to holidays, food, and school. From 1994 to 1996, a competition was held that encouraged fans to design their own Grin Pins, with the winners' designs becoming part of the collection.
