Soft Cell are an English synthpop duo which featured vocalist Marc Almond and musician David Ball. The duo is most known for their 1981 cover of Gloria Jones’s “Tainted Love”. The duo celebrated ten Top 40 hits in the UK and four Top 20 albums. The duo split up in 1984 and eventually reunited for a tour in 2001. The image featured on this button is an image of the duo taken during the promotion of their 1981 album “Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret”, which evoked images of adult film distributors.
