Brain cells have been proven to live about twice the lifetime of their original host if they are transferred to another organism. Therefore, the use of the phrase “while brain cells last” is either suggesting that the offer is available for a lifetime or it is a metaphor for one’s capacity to function adequately to perform a service for a limited time.
