William Howard Taft served as the 27th President of the U.S. from 1909- 1913. Before his presidency, Taft worked as a lawyer and a judge and served as Secretary of War under Theodore Roosevelt. He lost his second election to Woodrow Wilson; after his term, he served as a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
