The first gathering for the Model A Restorers Club (MARC) and the Model A Ford Club (MAFCA) occurred at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin in 1986. Membership for MARC and MAFCA was on the incline and their gathering for the World Meet gave them an opportunity to meet new and existing members and to discuss new club standards for their Model A vehicles.

The North Carolina Medical Society was first established in 1799 and their first Annual Session was held in 1849. There have only been four years since then without a Session, three years during the Civil War and one year during World War II. Annual Sessions are held in different locations across North Carolina each year. In 1849, only 25 doctors were in attendance but many more attend the Sessions today and the Association has over 12,000 members.

The back of this button references Hodges Badge Co. This company was founded in 1920 around Milford, New Hampshire. The family business moved to Boston a few years later and first set up shop in a two room loft space on Essex Street, then called Milk Street.

Mardi Gras, or “Fat Tuesday,” is the last day of the Carnival season and the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of Lent. Carnival, a French import to Canada and the United States, traditionally lasts from January 6th until Mardi Gras, and allows the Catholic faithful to indulge in fatty foods and revelry before they are expected to give up some worldly pleasures during Lent. In modern times, the festival is a local tradition and tourist attraction.

Maker Faire is an exhibition event created by Make magazine showcasing arts, crafts, engineering, science, and technology. Originally launched in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2006, it has since spread to over 190 different locations around the world, including Kansas City, MO. Maker Faire brings together educators, hobbyists, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors for presentations, workshops, and lectures. Attendees get the chance to see and learn about topics like robots, virtual reality equipment, sculptures, urban farming, homemade clothes, cartoons, and cakes. The event is family friendly with over 1.58 million attending around the world in 2017.

Kids' Night at Pizza Hut was a special at Pizza Hut during the 1990s. Children would receive a personal pan pizza for free with the order of another pizza.  The Nickelodeon channel was also a frequent collaborator with Pizza Hut and offered "pizza packs" that included a pizza, cup, and prize.

Kenworth is an American manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty class 8 trucks. Originally founded in Portland in 1912 under the name Gerlinger Motor Car Works, the company eventually relocated to Seattle, Washington and traded ownership; being renamed as Kenworth Motor Truck Company in 1923. 

In 1976, Kenworth unveiled a new line of trucks called the Aerodyne Raised-Roof Sleeper, which is shown on the front of the button. This model was an industry first and set the standard for driver comfort.

Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves is the third and final installment in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids trilogy, following the 1989 film of the same name and its 1992 sequel, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. Starring Rick Moranis as an accident-prone inventor, the film chronicles the events that unfold after he accidentally shrinks he and his adult relatives with an electromagnetic shrink ray. It premiered as a direct-to-video release in 1997.

McDonald's McHappy Day was established in Canada in 1977 by George Cohon, founder of McDonald's Canada and Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada. Since its inception, the event has raised over $56 million for Ronald McDonald Houses and communities across Canada. Today it is an annual fundraising event celebrated around the world. Individual McDonald's locations participate by donating a percentage of the day's sales to charity. Contributions mostly go to Ronald McDonald Houses but also to other local charities.
