North Jr. High School is a former high school in Abilene, Texas, that functioned from 1942 to the 1980s. Their mascot was the Broncos, a group of wild or unbroken range horses. The school was renamed Franklin Middle School in the 1980s before getting demolished between late 2010 to early 2011.

The Longhorns, also known as the Texas Longhorns, or “Horns” refer to the athletic teams of the University of Texas at Austin. The name is derived from the famous Longhorn cattle of Texas and the official colors of the Longhorns are burnt orange and white. The first appearance of the nickname “Longhorn” was in Texas newspapers around 1900.
