In 1982, the American Florists Marketing Council, or AFMC, created new buttons to promote the services of its florists. Henry Kaufman & Associates in Washington, D.C. created the design, which featured an orange flower and green text. The ad campaign also included radio, television, and print ads.

Alka-Seltzer is an effervescent antacid and pain reliever that was developed by Maurice Treneer and launched by the Dr. Miles Medicine Company in 1931. It has three active ingredients: aspirin, sodium bicarbonate and anhydrous citric acid. Alka-Seltzer is marketed for the relief of minor aches, pains, inflammation, fever, headache, heartburn, stomachache, indigestion, and hangovers. It is currently owed by the Bayer Schering Pharma AG in Germany.

The slogan "try it, you'll like it" was first used by Alka Seltzer in a 1971 American TV commercial. The slogan was revived for commercial use in 2006.

This button may have been used in a political campaign to promote Otis Bowen. The design of the button was a play on the phrase "bow and arrow." 

Otis R Bowen (1918-2013) was a doctor by trade. He served two terms as governor of Indiana from 1973 to 1981 and, in 1985, became the first physician appointed as Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Ronald Reagan. Bowen served in the position until he retired in 1989.

Former NFL football player, coach, and television commentator Mike Ditka opened a chain of restaurants located in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Phoenix. Ditka’s restaurants are steakhouses, serving the finest cuts of meat, which can also be purchased online at Ditka’s Premium Meats website. Ditka’s Pork Chops, also called “Da Pork Chop” after Ditka’s nickname, “Da Coach”, are 100% Kurobuta Berkshire hogs, prized for their succulence and tenderness. Most nights, Ditka is in the Chicago restaurant greeting customers and fans. 

Mike Ditka was born in 1939 and is a member of both the College Football and Pro Football Hall of Fames. He was a champion in 1963 with the Chicago Bears, a three-time Super Bowl Champion, and coach of the year for the Bears in 1985 and 1988.

Marshall Field and Company was a Chicago based department store that opened in the late 1800's and remained opened until 2005 when Macy's acquired the business.  Marshall Field and Company gained notoriety for unique Christmas advertisements and promotions during the holiday months.  This button was traditionally given to customers that went and visited Santa.

Harry Heathrow bear, said to be named after Prince Harry, was the emblem for Heathrow Airport from the 1970s through to the late 1980s. Harry Heathrow was also used to promote the 1986-1987 airport’s privatization campaign. Located in London, Heathrow was a national airport run by the British Airports Authority (BAA) until privatization in 1987, and is one of the world’s busiest airports serving about 90 airlines which fly to over 180 destinations.
