Actor Mel Gibson portrayed the titular character in the 1979 Australian film Mad Max. The film takes place in a dystopian future, where highway patrol officer Max Rockatansky clashes with a violent motorcycle gang. While the movie was not initially well received, it won three AACTA Awards and has garnered a wide cult following. It also spawned three sequels, Mad Max 2, Beyond Thunderdome, and Mad Max: Fury Road. Gibson reprised his role as Max Rockatansky for the second and third installment, while Tom Hardy portrayed the character in the fourth. 

Vestron Video, a home video company, was just one of the studios to release the film on VHS. The company went bankrupt in 1991 and has since been purchased by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Theodore Cleaver is the titular character from the American sitcom Leave It to Beaver. The show was created by Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher and premiered in 1957. The show is about Theodore also known as “The Beaver” and his adventures growing up in a middle-class American household. Today Leave It to Beaver is considered an iconic show and was placed on Time Magazine’s “100 Best TV Shows of all time” list.

Sandra Boynton's illustrations have featured on millions of greeting cards since she began selling her designs in 1973 to help pay for college. The "classical holiday" image was originally featured in Boynton's Animal Farm collection of postcards produced in 1981, after Boynton signed on with Recycled Paper Greetings. Boynton helped the company's value grow from $1 million to $100 million within five years. Today, Boynton has written more than fifty books featuring her animal characters, most famously Barnyard Dance, The Going to Bed Book, and her comedy for adults, Chocolate: The Consuming Passion.

Everything I Really Need To Know I Learned From Television is a 1993 book written by Barry Dutter and illustrated by Rick Parker. The book is comprised of illustrations depicting and describing various scenarios and tropes found in television shows and movies.

Danny and the Dinosaur is a children’s book series that is part of the I Can Read! books and was first published by Harper & Brothers in 1958. Danny and the Dinosaur series of books focuses on the imaginative relationship of a little boy and his dinosaur friend after his visit to a museum. It was written by Syd Hoff and has sold over six million copies and has been translated into multiple languages.

Sandra Boynton is primarily known as an illustrator, cartoonist, and writer. Her children's books and greeting cards often feature simple drawings of animals, including chickens, hippos, and cats, in a variety of situations. Her animals also feature in her nonfiction book, Chocolate: The Consuming Passion, which provides a unique commentary on the history, varieties, and uses of chocolate.

Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of fictional Canadian brothers who made their debut in 1980 hosting “Great White North” on the Canadian comedy sketch show Second City Television (SCTV). Bob McKenzie is played by Canadian actor Rick Moranis and Doug is played by fellow Canadian actor Dave Thomas. “Great White North,” a common nickname for Canada, portrayed popular stereotypes of Canadian life and culture through the brothers’ mindless commentary.

Beverly Hills, 90210 is a popular American TV series that aired from 1990 to 2000 on Fox, portraying the issues facing identical twin teenagers Brandon and Brenda Walsh and their group of friends. Brandon Walsh is played by American actor Jason Priestly, who appeared in the first nine seasons, making special guest appearances in the final tenth season. Brandon is considered to have strong morals but has his share of challenges in Beverly Hills, from a brief alcohol problem to more extensive relationship problems. "Beverly Hills, 90210" is a reference to one of the affluent California communities.

During Prohibition, the Anti-Saloon League served as a moral crusade against the manufacture, sale and consumption of alcohol. Members of this League were part of a temperance movement that worked to convince people to stop drinking alcohol. They believed it was a leading cause in the destruction of families.  The League promoted the temperance cause with a wide variety of publications, songs and dramas.
