Snoopy is Charlie Brown's pet dog in the Peanuts comics by Charles M. Schulz. Though Snoopy's character was introduced in 1950, it was not until 1956 that the dog was illustrated as walking on its hind legs. Throughout the 1960s, Snoopy began to interact with yellow birds in the comics. In 1968, a particular yellow bird named Woodstock was identified as Snoopy's "buddy." Woodstock is consistently portrayed in the comics as having difficulty flying which can be used to explain why he is depicted upside down. Neither character is capable of speech. As such, they communicate through sounds and pantomime yet have no difficulty being understood by each other or other characters.

Lucy van Pelt is a character from the Peanuts comics by Charles M. Schulz. She is the older sister of Linus and Rerun and is typically portrayed as a bully. She is also characterized as an antagonist and is known for her unrequited crush on Schroeder. Lucy was introduced to the comics in 1952.

The outdated term "Gal Friday" refers to a woman who works as an assistant, especially doing secretarial and clerical work.

Sandra Boynton was born in 1953 and is an American artist and humorist. She has designed over four thousand greeting cards as well as dozens of books and children's books. She has also received many awards for her work in film and music. Boynton’s art began appearing in the 1970s on card designs for Recycled Paper Greetings. By the mid 1980s, she sold over 80 million cards a year. Over 60 million copies of Sandra’s children’s books and over 500 million copies of Sandra’s cards have been sold between 1970 and 2003. In 1996, Boynton began writing and producing music, releasing five children’s albums from 1996-2013, and in 2008, she began creating videos for her most popular songs. Throughout her career, Boynton has designed for many companies including calendars, wallpaper, bedding, and paper goods.

Sunday school is a class held in churches to teach individuals about Christianity. It is often catered to children and young adults, although many churches offer Sunday school classes for adults as well. Sunday schools were set up in the 1780s in England to teach working class children how to read and write and to give them an understanding of the Bible. However in present-day America, Sunday school serves as an accompaniment to church, rather than an educational institution.

This button is used to identify graduates form the Vail/Beaver Creek Ski School, skiing lessons that started in the late 1980s at the Beaver Creek Resort in Colorado. The resort itself was opened in December 1980 by Vail Resorts Management Company and has been used for three World Ski Championships.

Alpha Gamma Delta is an international women’s organization. It was founded on May 30, 1904 in the home of Dr. Wellesley Perry Coddington at Syracuse University. In a time when few women went to college, the 11 founders joined together to create an organization that catered to this minority. Today, there are 190 collegiate chapters, 250 alumnae chapters, and over 160,000 women that have become Alpha Gam sisters.

This is a fan club pinback from the 1940s children's radio show Sleepy Joe's.  The show featured characters Brer Rabbit, Brer Turtle, Brer Squirrel, Brer Fox, Brer Foxhound, Brer Eight Legs, The Widow, Sis Robin, Sis Crow, Brer Rooster, Brer Snake, Brer Bear, and Brer Pekinese; all were narrated by Sleepy Joe.

Before television became the national mass media in 1960s, radio programs were the dominant entertainment for families. Children's programs were broadcasted between the end of the school day and supper-time, when kids ruled the dial.

Like many state music education associations, the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) sponsors several state-wide music opportunities to develop future musicians and leaders from its most accomplished high school students. Participation in Connecticut's all-state orchestra, choir, band or jazz ensemble requires a successful audition where students are given the opportunity to receive a professional evaluation of their performance. Those accepted into the yearly program come together for a series of group rehearsals where students prepare for a performance under the direction of guest conductors. The cumulative work of each music group is then shared with the public at All-State and Regional Festivals.

The Afro Student Union no longer exists at Lane Tech, though it has most likely been replaced by one of the current clubs, either Africa Unite or Black Student Association. Lane Tech offers more than 120 clubs, many of which celebrate the ethnic diversity of the student population.

Lane Technical College Prep High School located in Chicago, Illinois, was founded in 1908. Lane Tech is one of nine selective enrollment schools, requiring all applicants to pass entrance exams before attending the school. The campus has an enrollment of just over 4,000 students, grades 7-12. Lane Tech's colors are green and gold, and their mascot is the Indians (which has been much debated in recent years, but still remains unchanged).

Junior High 109, grades 7-9, is located in New York City in Queens Village. It is now named Jean Nuzzi Intermediate School and enrolls about 1,000 students in grades 6-8. One of the clubs offered at Jean Nuzzi is student government, which used to be called General Organization (G.O.) Club when the school was 109. Queens Village is a mostly residential neighborhood in the borough of Queens.
