Halloween is a celebration held on October 31st each year in many different countries around the world. The word Halloween or Hallowe’en comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve, the evening before All Hallows’ Day or All Saints’ Day.  This Christian celebration honors all saints and is celebrated on November 1st, thus Halloween or All Hallow’s’ Eve is the day before that celebration. Modern celebrations of Halloween include dressing up in costumes, walking from house to house (known as trick-or-treating), and going to social events or parties. Another tradition is carving jack-o-lanterns, which are carved faces or designs on pumpkins, turnips, or other root vegetables.

Commonly associated with Halloween are “thing that go bump in the night” like ghosts, goblins, and vampires. The last of these is a folklore creature that sustains itself by biting its victims and sucking their blood. Vampires exist in nearly every culture and were popularized by Irish author Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel entitled Dracula. Most recognize vampires as fictional entities, but some still buy into the existence of the chupacabra—an American monster that attacks and drinks the blood of livestock.

The Babysitters Club was a popular book series in the 1980s through 2000, written by Ann M. Martin. The series is based on a group of four friends in the fictional town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut and their babysitting business. The series starts with four main characters Kristy Thomas (president), Claudia Kishi (vice president), Mary Anne Spier (secretary), and Stacey McGill (treasurer), and eventually adds new characters. Each book narrates the babysitting experience of each girl and a subplot of the different issues they face.

This is a variation of the "I heart NY" logo that was created in 1977 by Milton Glaser for an ad campaign created by advertising agency Wells Rich Greene. The marketing campaign was sought by then-Deputy Commissioner William S. Doyle to increase tourism in the state of New York. The campaign was a wild success. The original sketch of the logo is permanently on display at the MOMA.

The logo has become iconic in pop-culture and has been imitated in many forms around the world.

Pink Floyd is an English progressive rock band that formed in 1965. The band originally consisted of Syd Barrett, Roger Waters,  Richard Wright, and Nick Mason. The members were students who came from academic backgrounds. They gained popularity by performing in London's underground music scene. David Gilmer later joined the group, and Barrett left the band due to mental health issues. Pink Floyd is distinguished by their philosophical lyrics, progressive and psychedelic melodies. They are one of the most commercially successful bands of all times, and Rolling Stone magazine ranked them at number 51 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Artists of All Times." Pink Floyd's music influenced numerous artists such as David Bowie, Queen, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, among many others.

The image on the button is a portion of the artwork from the album "The Wall." This the Pink Floyd's eleventh record that was released as a double album in 1979. "The Wall" is a rock opera that explores isolation, solitude, and abandonment, and the wall represents such sentiment. The protagonist, Pink, is tormented and traumatized by his family and school life but eventually becomes a rock star. However his adult life crumbles as he finishes building the wall which cuts him off from all human contact. Within his wall, Pink hallucinates that he is a fascist dictator performing at concerts, and he sets his men to exclude the fans that he deems unworthy. Pink is overwhelmed with guilt and puts himself on trial. His inner judge orders him to "tear down the wall" and Pink is then reconnected with the outside world.
