From 1974 to 1979, the touring ice show Ice Follies included 20-minute acts featuring skaters dressed as characters from the children's show Sesame Street. The original act featured Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Mr. Snuffleupagus, Cookie Monster, Betty Lou, Oscar the Grouch and the Count. Big Bird performed on a vocal track by Caroll Spinney. One show included a segment about Big Bird teaching Mr. Snuffleupagus how to ice skate.

Disney on Parade was a traveling tour that featured many of the popular Disney characters. Lavish stage productions were on tour from 1969-1974. The show had four different themes and performed in sports arenas around the country. International tours ran until around 1977.

Harrah's Hotels and Casinos is the largest casino brand in America with over 16 properties throughout the US, including Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and New Orleans. The first Harrah's was opened in Reno in 1937, by American businessman William F. Harrah. It was first casino to feature the singer Sammy Davis, Jr.

Today Harrah's Las Vegas boasts over 1,200 slot machines.

“DA BULLS” is a reference to the Bill Swerski’s "Superfans" sketch on Saturday Night Live.  It was prominently featured on the show from 1991-1992 and depicted a group of obsessive Chicago sports fans.  They wore dark sunglasses and thick mustaches, resembling Mike Ditka, their idol.  Typically, the scene was set in a sports bar with the characters drinking large amounts of beer and eating ribs, Polish sausage, and other similar foods.  Some of the actors who appeared in the sketch were Chris Farley, Mike Myers, John Goodman, and Dan Aykroyd.

Fencl-Tufo Chevrolet was an automobile dealearship in Glendale Heights Illinois (a suburb of Chicago). It closed in the late 1980s. The Dealership was owned by Dick Fencil & John Tufo. The dealership was known for its television commercials using puppets and local sports teams.

Van Dahm Lincoln Mercury is a car dealership in Oak Lawn, Illinois. On August 3, 1974 Chauncey the cougar who was the star of the Lincoln-Mercury commercials at the time made an appearance at the dealership. Chauncey and Christopher the cougar cub that also appeared, were two of the animals that lived at Ted and Pat Derb's "Love is an Animal", a 300-acre farm near Buellton, California. The animal's appearances in advertising and promotional events helped to pay for their care.

The advertisements featured a cougar on top of the Mercury Lincoln sign. Here are some example commercials featuring the cougar:
