Bob Marley and the Wailer’s “Redemption Song,” which contained the lyrics “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds,” appeared on Uprising, the band’s 1980 album. Its lyrics spoke of a person taken into slavery who was fighting for physical and mental freedom from his oppressor.

The lyrics to the song were based off of a speech given by Jamaican civil rights activist Marcus Garvey in Nova Scotia in 1937. The speech was published in The Black Man: A Monthly Magazine of Negro Thought and Opinion.

Arden Theatre Company was founded in Philadelphia, PA by Terrence J. Nolen, Amy Murphy, and Aaron Posner, and produces plays in a variety of genres and styles. The theatre started small, and has expanded its reach over time to include classes for children and theater outreach for the entire Philadelphia community.

The "I love" and "I heart" logos have become iconic in pop-culture and have been imitated in many forms around the world.

The original form of the "I heart" and "I love" logos was the I heart NY logo created in 1977 by Milton Glaser for an ad campaign created by advertising agency Wells Rich Greene. The marketing campaign was sought by then-Deputy Commissioner William S. Doyle to increase tourism in the state of New York. The campaign was a wild success. The original sketch of the logo is permanently on display at the MOMA.
