The Hard Rock Hotel is a restaurant and entertainment venue known for displaying various music memorabilia. Among notable things on display, they are also known for their souvenirs and sellable merchandise. There is a community dedicated to collecting Hard Rock Cafe shot glasses. The Hard Rock Shot Glass Collectors (SGC) have been around since the early 2000s. They hold events to get together and talk about their mutual hobby. Funds raised for these events often go directly to charity. Their 2010 events held in Hollywood, Florida and Miami, Florida, took place on June 11th and 12th. In an effort to raise money for The Vitas Hospital, four pin-backs were created for the event. All pins had a monster theme and could be purchased for $3 each. The Vitas Hospital was chosen in memory of their late friend and collector.

Additional Information

Located in Chicago, About Face Theatre was established in 1995 by Artistic Directors Kyle Hall and Eric Rosen to raise LGBTQIA voices in the performing arts. Since its founding, the theatre has put on dozens of productions “that tell complicated stories representing all facets of gay life.” The organization holds an annual Equity Mainstage Season and year-around educational programs designed to foster awareness and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community. The theatre is also heavily involved with Chicago’s queer youth by partnering with local schools to empower students and catalyze dialogue.

The name “About Face” was chosen for the theater by one of its founders Kyle Hall because it represents “a turning of the tide – changing perceptions and the direction of discourse by, of, and about queer lives and experiences.”

Indivisible began in response to the election of Donald J. Trump as the 45th President of the United States in 2016. Self-described as a "progressive grassroots movement," they seek to "build a democracy that reflects a broad, multiracial 'we the people,' one that works for all of us and is sustained by all of us." Today, they continue to support progressive causes, encourage active participation in local and national politics, and seek to create change through "collective constituent power that comes with working together."

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his running mate California Senator Kamala Harris ran during the 2020 election against incumbent candidates President Donald J.Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence. The election itself was historic as it took place during the worldwide pandemic, COVID-19, and national, racial unrest. As a result, voter turnout, through early voting, in-person voting, and mail-in voting, was at a record high. Due to the increased voter turnout, many states' projections were still undetermined by the media for over a week after the election.

On November 7, 2020, news networks called the election in favor of Biden. In the end, both candidates received the most votes of any two presidential candidates in US history.

Biden’s running mate also made history as becoming the first woman elected to the office of Vice-President, the first woman of color, and the first Asian-American woman to hold the office.

Indivisible is a nationwide grassroots movement consisting of local groups actively advocating for progressive initiatives and democratic engagement. In 2020, Indivisible Guide's action twenty in "50 Actions in 50 Days" encouraged Americans to download the "VoteJoe" app to help ensure friends and family voted in the presidential election, hoping to steer voters to Democratic candidate Joe Biden. The 2020 election was significant due to the voter responses in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which included a large number of early voters and vote by mail applications among traditional voters, and later, the inauguration of Kamala Harris, the first woman seated as Vice President.

Indivisible is a nationwide grassroots movement consisting of local groups actively advocating for progressive initiatives and democratic engagement. Indivisible acted as a partner of the 2020 letter-writing campaign, "The Big Send", run by Vote Forward.  Citizens mailed over 17 million letters to increase voter turnout. Oregon District 2 Indivisible wrote over 16,000 letters in Medford, encouraging people to vote in swing state. Although voting in a presidential election in the United States is done through the electoral college process, each state's individual electoral votes are decided on the number of ballots received, stressing the importance of every vote being counted. Voters can see the largest impact of their votes in local elections for their community's leaders and their representatives in the state.
