Additional Information

Congressional Quarterly is a magazine that was founded in 1945 by Nelson Poynter and his wife, Henrietta. It was created with the purpose of informing citizens of the United States about congressional activity. This information would be more accessible, allowing local newspapers and journalist information to then disseminate to the public.

Today, the organization owns numerous publications and continues to try and keep the citizenry informed. With advancements in technology, CQ has incorporated tracking tools to better keep readers up to date on both congressional and legislative news. The organization also frequently runs its own ads to their readers, promoting and offering information on how they can register to vote.
